WHEW!!!!

Wow. It's been two months since my last post.  Really?  Not much has changed.  Friday got to work at about 7:30am.  It was Friday and payday and I was "acting", my boss called out and I was in charge.  9:15am and a pepsi later felt this dull ache in my lower left side.  ?????? Well cramps isn't an OPTION anymore.... so my brain went into RED ALERT mode.  Signed out, headed straight the the ER.  Two bags of fluid and a couple of doses of oxycodone later, nurse confirmed what I already figured.  4mm stone obstructing.... my brain shut down after the fourth word.  Because of it's position, my urologist who happened to be on call suggested they keep me.  Ummmm no thank you.  I convinced him that wouldn't be necessary.  Send me home, which btw is RIGHT across the street from the ER, with some pain meds and I'll be ok.  Remember me doc,  I passed the 7mm one over the summer?  He response was yeah but remember I'm the guy that had to remove crazy small one that got obstructed.  Ummmm hmmmm yeah but....  Needless to say I won the fight and some time between late Friday night and Saturday morning I gave "birth" to this:

 

This episode wasn't as bad as the 4 trips this summer before my final surgery (yes had to have another one after the first).

 

Bittersweet weekend-pain is gone and I'm sure this was the last one.  The others I past and or the doctors removed like I said this summer (back in August to be exact).  Best part is DD is home because of storm Sandy.  My mom would NOT let anyone rest until we got her home.  Her presence has made the house so different.  She defintely brings back life to this house.  The youngest is a boy and so laid back.  My daughter is the outgoing one.  The fun one.  Not that the boy isn't fun, he's an "old" soul.  I swear.  Well everyone please be safe.

Sad

Today was a hard day for me.  My oldest child went to college today.  The month has been a whirlwind for my household.  Kidney stones episodes that required three emergency room visits, lithotripsy, kidney infection and then stent placement to remove stones is enough for any one person.  I'm almost stone free but that's nothing compared to the heartbreak I'm going through right now.  Life is forever changed and I better be a big girl about it fast!  Nothing like a mommy balling her eyes every five minutes.  I guess the days will get better. This is tough!

Whew!!!!

Still recovering from surgery.  Monday was my oldest 18th birthday who is now home with strep throat.  So you can imagine my household.  I have been able to get around a bit.  Not so bad.  The passing of the stones are the worst.  Enough about that.  On to the portfolios.  Patchfolio and small books pattern by Craft Apple are my biggest seller.  Here are few that I have made.  Will post the current orders when they are done.

They are addicting to make.  Just let me warn you!  LOL!

Sigh

It's Sunday and I guess I have the blues.
Feeling better from the stones though. Wednesday night had to be taken to the er by ambulance it was so bad. Good thing the hospital is right across the street. The first to arrive ere the fire dept. I was in so mich pain I was in the floor on my knews. When arrived they had to so everything on the floor. Well the ambo came and away we went.
It took them 15mins to get my IV. By this time the poor
Firefighter guy offered to put my line in. I was so mich pain i could from their faces they wanted to help me rid that horrible pain. The other stood and patted my hand. My poor husband was so distraught. I haven't experienced pain like this ever and I had mu son amd daughter naturally.
Finally moved into the room. Nurse put my line while in the stretcher in the hall. Doctor was awesome. Saw I had been there few weeks ago for same thing. Things went rapidly. This time however it took 2 shots of dilulaid to get me comfortable.
Ct scan showed that my monday litho procedure caused a 5mm to drop hence the pain.
So they pumped me with drugs and sent me home.
I am to return as soon as the pain starts. I have the dilulaid in pill form but couldn't keep anything down so I was prescribed nausea meds too.
Any twinge of pain since I have taken my 1/2 dilulaid.

More changes, dd got her license friday and its been deal around here. Today she totally shaved all her beautiful hair off. She wants to be natural. She will be 18 in two days and leavinf for college in a couple of weeks. Don't tell anyone but it's just too much for daMommie to get used all at once.
Guess it's time for daMommie to grow up!

Oh nooowwa

Stoopid kidney stones. Saturday I had the worst pain in my entire life! Mind you I have experienced kidney stones for the first time about four years ago and that episodes was NOTHING compared to this time. This one is stuck in the ureter 6mm. Too large for me to pass and blocking the flow of urine. So having stones blasted on Thursday. I will be put under and it is way less invasive than surgery. Right now I am on some super dupa pain meds. DaMommie has been put on bed rest! My son and daughter are watching me like a hawk!!!!!! Thanks to DH! But I won't complain and use this time to rest up as much as I can. Xoxoxoxo D daMommie :-)

First and foremost today is my baby's 14th bday.  I can't believe I'm saying this right now. :-(

I have been truly blessed I can not even begin to tell you.

Yep needed the embroidery features on this baby.  Had to pass up some clients because my other machine couldn't embroider larger size.  THAT won't happen again.  ;-)

Love love Rita from red pepper quilts. Her straight line quilting is always perfect. She uses the new Bernina. Would love love this machine but too expensive for me at this moment. Hubby asked me to research and pick a model. Really? Oh how I would love one but really? Well while googling I saw that Leah from Sew Spoiled has the same machine as me! The Brother pc-420!!!! Whaaaatttt?!!!! If it's good enough for this super savy sewer, it WILL be good enough for the DaMommie!!! Two snaps up and a circle!

Nothing fancy but a good score from Walmart. Yes you read that right Walmart. I spent...well just say I didn't break the the bank with this purchase. I'll dream of what to make with this. Yes I dream of sewing and will lie awake, rushing the day to come so I can get home and start creating.

Senior Prom night and some sewing

My daughter went to senior prom tonight. She's the one in the cream(?) dress. As you can tell she's very eccentric hence, the rihanna haircut and color.

I've been sewing while waiting up for her to come home. Yes I'm a worry wart of a mom and will NOT sleep until I know she's home. What better way than to sew right?

Mother's Day!!!

Was my birthday!!!! Yep, exactly 39 years from Sunday. I was a mother's day baby but if you ask my mother her best gift was this.....not me.... but this...that's what she said but I KNOW she loves teasing me. Sorry Mom I'm not flustered! Well maybe a little. :-(

She's NOT technically savvy! And I didn't want to waste money on an ipad and have her NOT like it.

Good thing about having insomnia is you can be creative/productive.  You can definitely get things done, but quietly.  Everyone else is dreaming away.

Mother's Day May 13th

I've been very very busy.  Shifted gears to make something new for my etsy shop.  A pattern by Craft Apple. 
It's a portfolio.  I had to have this pattern.  I hope others will think so also!  ;-) 


Ummmm yeah....Mother's Day-perfect gift right? And Mother's Day this year is my birthday(I was born on Mother's Day btw!). What better gift for my mom right? Well I think my brother would beg to differ. Even though he wasn't born on Mother's day he's the baby and oh so cute!!!! And NO I'm telling you how old. LOL! I'm old enough. That is all... oh yeah here are some pics.....

Where oh where is my sewing mojo

I've rearranged my room again.  Trying to make better use of things. Desktop is down so I'm using an old laptop of my daughters'.  Just blah today.  Hubby says I should just get another computer and be done with the old one.  Why is it so hard for me to buy things for myself?  If it were for anyone else, it would have been a no brainer.  I would have gotten the blasted thing days ago.
Joys of motherhood.  We get so used to putting ourselves last, it becomes a chore to do otherwise.  I should know my mom is notorious for this kind of behavior.  Speaking of mom's better get this computer issue straight.  My birthday is Mother's day this year (yeah was also born on Mother's Day) and I can see my mother buying me a computer if I don't have one already.    Not that I'm complaining.  I don't like her spending money on me.  She did her job raising me and I don't like accepting expensive gifts.
I know I have issues.
I love to give.  Have a hard time receiving. LOL!  It could be worse.

Okay I confess I'm cheap!!!!! So cheap I wanted a pattern to make items and sell in my shop but refused to pay the cost of the pattern.  How difficult should this be to make?

Well I made my own version!  Hmmphhh!!!!!!  No offense but I need to make money before I can start spending it.

So tired!

I don't know what has come over me but I couldn't get up to save my soul today.  Literally.  Missed church and I hate that!  My week will be off.  Any how I'm up now.  I will be returning to work after being home with my DD for the last two weeks.  She's still home another two weeks but she's healing and coming along fine.  :-)  That's enough to be grateful for! 
While I was taking a break from the my etsy sewing, I started looking around my old sewing pattern review sites.  Of course the fabolous sewers on there are sewing away and making some lovely sping outfits.  Mimi G., Adrienne and Erica B. are some of my favs.  Adrienne got my mojo flowing.  Her skirt is to die for! So I decided to make a simple dress for church.  (yeah I'll wear it next Sunday, the Lord's willing).

Excuse the wrinkles.  Planned to get up and iron them both this morning.  Gotta work on installing zippers again.
Ummm yeah will be working on the skirt like Adrienne's some time this week.  Stay tuned!!!!!!

Really?

The beauty of pictures. From them people can make up the wildest stories. I hate pictures of myself but here are some pics my hubby took of me. My old new hair cut. I love my hair short. So carefree. Nope I don't work out inherited these large shoulders from my dad. Imagine those shoulders on a size 4 body.

Whew!  Taking care of the sick is a job in itself.  My daughter is much better. Thank you to all that have inquired about her.  She's a true fighter that's for sure.
I have been able to get some sewing done while she was drugged (sleep). :)
